Keyboard shortcuts

Every Gatesys SSH keyboard shortcut for macOS, Windows and Linux: terminal tabs, local terminals, Farabi, the command palette, SFTP and the host editor.

Shortcuts use ⌘ on macOS and Ctrl on Windows and Linux.

Windows and Linux: the shell comes first

Inside a focused terminal, Ctrl plus a letter belongs to the shell (CtrlW deletes a word, CtrlK cuts to the end of the line). That is why the terminal’s own tab shortcuts add Shift, and why the shortcuts under Anywhere apply when a terminal does not have focus. From a terminal, click the search box on the right of the title bar to open the palette.

The one exception is CtrlI, which shows or folds Farabi even in a focused terminal. The shell loses nothing: CtrlI sends the same code as Tab, which still works.

More than one terminal per session is part of Gatesys Pro. Without it, the new-tab shortcut opens a card that says so, with Get Pro, instead of a tab. See Terminal. Farabi’s panel starts folded; the shortcut shows it.
